The bachelor´s thesis focuses on the study of purchasing functions in the company Tubapack, Inc., concerning the production of aluminum and plastic tubes. The theoretical part defines the basic characteristics of buying, purchasing process, purchasing management and purchasing strategy. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the current status of the purchase function in selected enterprises and suggestions for improvement of the function.

This master´s thesis deals with optimalization of procedures in production company using modern methods. Describing actual status of inventory management with focus on purchasing department, inventory movements, stocking and planning. Thesis solve problem by introducing Kanban system in field of inventory management, ABC analysis and evaluation of suppliers in the area of purchasing. The purpose of the master´s thesis is to submit suitable solutions, which can improve existing processes in inventory management and purchases.

The first part is focused on a description of the company and a theoretical specification of purchasing of a manufactoring company, the second part deals with an analysis of the current state of purchasing in the company. In the last part there is a suggestion for steps of how to improve the current purchasing functions.

It contains an analysis of the current situation, identify problems and defeciencies, evaluate them and propose measures to alleviate or eliminate them, thereby contributing to a more efficient use of corporate costs, such as time, staff, materials and others.

By indexes of effectivity of stocks management is analyzed the current situation in the company. Similarly, indexes are used to evaluate what advantages could be achieved on supply management and stocks optimalization by using these methods to fulfill goals. These methods are used to set optimal stocks, ABC analysis, Economic Order Quantity and evaluation of suppliers.

The current inventory management in this particular economical subject is described in the practical part of the thesis. The Bachelor´s thesis analyses the established process that is currently used for the inventory management by using the ABC analysis, the analysis of the inventory turnovers and similar methods with goal to improve the effectiveness.

The bachelor thesis is focused on the process of purchasing in a selected manufacturing company. In this thesis I focused closely on the individual parts of the purchasing process. The first part summarizes the basic theoretical background and terms. The next part describes the curerent situation and analyses the problem. The last part presents proposals how to accelerate the purchassing process and their benefits.
